After three games on the road, Clay is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Zane Trace Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Clay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Monday.
On Monday, it was close, but Clay sidestepped Western for a 21-18 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Clay has scored all year.
Clay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Emnett led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Emnett has scored at least 25% of Clay's points.
Meanwhile, Zane Trace's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-33 defeat at the hands of Wellston. Zane Trace was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
The win got Clay back to even at 3-3. As for Zane Trace, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8.
