The Desert Pines Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Silverado Skyhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Pines knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Silverado likes a good challenge.
Desert Pines pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between Desert Pines and Bishop Gorman wasn't particularly close, with Desert Pines falling 76-59. While losing is never fun, Desert Pines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Bishop Gorman is ranked first).
Meanwhile, Silverado can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 71-30 victory over Las Vegas. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Silverado has posted since November 28, 2023.
Carlos Bradley and Cyril Franklin, Jr. were among the main playmakers for Silverado as the former scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bradley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Schwallie, who scored no points along with six steals.
Desert Pines' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Silverado, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Desert Pines couldn't quite finish off Silverado when the teams last played back in December of 2021 and fell 72-69. Can Desert Pines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
