The biggest upset of the week belonged to Placer, who defeated 254th ranked Bear River, 49-7. Todd Valliere ran for 132 yards and caught 3 passes for 15 yards in the win.
The Hillmen scaled the state rankings by moving to 408 from 482 this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer Valley League. Placer was able to move up by beating the Bruins 49-7.
Michael Wilson threw for 279 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 25-39 with 3 interceptions.
Kyle Bryant was the best receiver in the league this week as Colfax fell to Center. Bryant racked up 12 receptions for 177 yards. Chris Harshman helped Colfax's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 45 yards.
The Falcons' Wilson and Bryant led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Wilson has thrown for 2,023 yards this season, while Bryant has 54 catches for 738 yards. Lincoln's Dane Stimbert leads the league in rushing yards with 1,042.
Two of the top teams in Pioneer Valley League will go toe-to-toe this week when Joey Montoya's team takes on the Fighting Zebras. The Hillmen's offense has recorded 280 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Lincoln has permitted only 123 on the year.
Placer's Valliere needs only 93 yards against Ken Lowe's team next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 110 carries Valliere has accumulated 907 yard this year.
The Hillmen are in fifth place, while the Fighting Zebras are in first place.
The league will see a high scoring game when Placer and Lincoln face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Hillmen comes in having scored 280 this season, while the Fighting Zebras have scored 274. Placer scored 49 points last week as it beat Bear River.
Lincoln added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Foothill, 43-19. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Fighting Zebras.
