Brackenridge and Lanier are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Voks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Brackenridge is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Brackenridge lost 17-2 to Seguin on Monday.
Joselynn Herrera was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lanier). They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Jefferson on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Voks needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Klarissa Fuentes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fuentes was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That hit marked the first that she has got this season.
In other batting news, Lanier got a massive performance out of Miley Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Lopez has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Vega, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Lanier hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Brackenridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lanier, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.
Brackenridge suffered a grim 19-6 defeat to Lanier when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
