After a string of three wins, the Carvers Bay Bears's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Philip Simmons.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmyn Jenkins, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jenkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jerchel Geathers-Washington, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Carvers Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Philip Simmons only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carvers Bay will take on Loris at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Loris focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Wednesday.
