The Billings Wildcats lost against the Marionville Comets back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Billings was dealt a 82-20 loss at the hands of Marionville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Billings has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marionville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucy Newberry , who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The contest was Newberry 's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anniliyah Ghan, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Billings and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Marionville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Billings will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McAuley Catholic on December 26th. McAuley Catholic is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Marionville will be home for the holidays to greet Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Greenfield comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
