The Hot Springs County Bobcats struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Buffalo Bison had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hot Springs County took a serious blow against Buffalo, falling 64-37. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hot Springs County in their matchups with Buffalo: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Hot Springs County had strong showings from Kamryn Farrell, who scored 15 points, and Jayssie Owsley, who scored ten points. Owsley scored a full 27% of Hot Springs County's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hot Springs County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buffalo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cassidy Bessler, who scored ten points along with seven steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Isobell Kerckaert, who scored 13 points.
Hot Springs County now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Buffalo, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hot Springs County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
