Palomar recap Nov. 7, 2012
Nathan Cherek of Ramona ran for the longest rushing play in Palomar this season against Westview last week. Cherek ran for 68 yards on the play and finished with 183 on the day as his team topped the Wolverines.
Poway extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Rancho Bernardo, 48-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Titans.
Jack Bailey was the best wideout in the league this week as Torrey Pines defeated La Costa Canyon. Bailey racked up four receptions for 38 yards. Nolan Weinberg helped Torrey Pines' passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Michael Searson put up the best numbers through the air as the Broncos fell to Poway. He had a total of seven completions for 79 yards. Searson's favorite target this week was Brian Riley, who caught one pass for 24 yards.
Westview's Nate Ketteringham and Codv Williams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Palomar in both passing and receiving yards. Ketteringham has thrown for 1329 yards this season, while Williams, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 43 catches for 766 yards. Ivy Adair from Rancho Bernardo leads the league in rushing with 1466 yards.
Ramona moved up to 139 from 187 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Damon Baldwin's team was able to make move up by beating Mike Woodward's team 35-14.
