The St. John Lutheran Saints suffered their biggest defeat since January 4th on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 84-58 walloping at the hands of HEART HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, St. John Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 798th, while HEART HomeSchool is ranked 392nd).
St. John Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brody Gravante, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. Bryce Disimile was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. John Lutheran's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for HEART HomeSchool, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John Lutheran will face off against Real Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for HEART HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to challenge Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Families Instructing Students HomeSchool comes in on three and HEART HomeSchool on four.
