Rigby faced Meridian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on six straight.
Rigby never let Meridian on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-21.
Breleigh Youngstrom had an outrageously good game as she had 20 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.
Rigby's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Meridian, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rigby will face off against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Meridian, they will venture away from home to challenge Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
