Fayette Ware is 1-8 against Haywood since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will host the Tomcats at 7:30 p.m. Fayette Ware is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

Angel Hernandez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Landon Holden was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Aiden Ross was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Fayette Ware kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 12.4.
Ripley hit Haywood with a four-run fifth inning last Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tomcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Tomcats have lost by exactly ten runs.
Haywood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty' Sean Mercer, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Fayette Ware's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Haywood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-17.
Haywood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fayette Ware hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401.
