The Providence Christian Academy Griffins had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 66-52 win over Avon Grove Charter. For Providence Christian Academy, this counts as revenge for the 66-46 loss Avon Grove Charter walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Among those leading the charge was Bryce Unruh, who scored 26 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Mark Ewing, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals.
Providence Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Avon Grove Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Christian Academy will take on Tome at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tome focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Avon Grove Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Barrack Hebrew Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
