The Washington Blue Lions had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They managed a 43-37 victory over Miami Trace. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Washington has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Haithcock, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Rickman, who scored 17 points.
Washington pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Miami Trace, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.
Washington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Vinton County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Blue Lions are ranked 129th). As for Miami Trace, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
