Tooele has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Uintah Utes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Tooele is ranked 108th, while Uintah is ranked 100th).
A well-balanced attack led Tooele over Hillcrest in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Tooele blew Hillcrest out of the water with a 54-26 final score. The victory was just what Tooele needed coming off of a 54-30 loss in their prior contest.
Tooele can attribute much of their success to Kennedy Searle, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, and Josie Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Ciana Rolle was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Uintah was beaten by Payson 61-33 on Friday. Uintah has struggled against Payson recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Tooele's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Uintah, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16.
Tooele was taken down by Uintah 59-28 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Tooele avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
