After failing to score in their last match, Xavier made sure to put some goals up on the board against Vinton-Shellsburg on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Vikings a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Xavier, who have now won five matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Xavier's win bumped their record up to 6-1-3. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, with the defeat, they broke their eight-match winning streak and moved their record to 10-2-1.

As for Vinton-Shellsburg, they will venture away from home to face off against Western Dubuque at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Vinton-Shellsburg will be up against Western Dubuque's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.89 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
