With a playoff win on the line, Monticello rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the North Summit Braves get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Buckaroo have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Triston Felix was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Monticello is 6-3 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-7 otherwise. Felix was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Jackson Keyes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Arturo Guiterrez was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
