Baseball Recap: Wood River Wins Going Away Against Snake River

Wood River's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Snake River Panthers with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Wolverines have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Hebert was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Alex Golub was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Wood River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wood River's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Snake River, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Wood River will be playing at home against Bear Lake at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Snake River, they will venture away from home to square off against Buhl at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
