Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Whiteland walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the East Central Trojans 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on four straight.

Whiteland got a great performance from Peyton Wingfield as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Dickens, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since May 2nd. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Shipp, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Whiteland's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for East Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-10.

Whiteland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-5 defeat against Franklin Community on the 2nd. East Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
