MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. -
Montoursville (Pa.) saw its 12-point lead dwindle to five, but still managed to hang on and beat
Mount Carmel (Pa.) 18-13 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Cameron Ott in the first quarter, the Warriors led 10-6 at the half.
Montoursville grew its lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Ott.
With the win the Warriors extended their winning streak to five games. Montoursville defeated Hughesville 41-0 last week.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the RED TORNADOES took, 35-10.
The loss was the third in a row for Mount Carmel.
In a Heartland II game next week Mount Carmel (2-3) takes on Central Columbia, and Montoursville (5-0) will go up against Lewisburg also in a Heartland II game.
