Center hasn't had much luck against Bear River recently, but that could start to change on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m.
Center is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game last Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakmont.
Center couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Oakmont a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 29-31, 25-14, 25-13.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bear River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Marysville last Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Bear River was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-7, 25-21.
Center's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Bear River, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's game: Center has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Center came up short against Bear River when the teams last played back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
