If the Coral Glades Jaguars were riding high off their 77-53 takedown of the Stoneman Douglas Eagles on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Coral Glades was dealt a 73-46 loss at the hands of Lake Worth on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Coral Glades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Lake Worth is ranked 12th).
Coral Glades lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tahir Bond, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Bond's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Burrowes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Coral Glades' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lake Worth, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Glades won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pembroke Pines Charter at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Pembroke Pines Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Coral Glades likes a good challenge. Lake Worth will be home for the holidays to greet Hialeah Educational Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hialeah Educational Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
