The Southern Rams will head out on the road to take on the Fort Hill Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Southern comes in on three and Fort Hill on six.
Allegany typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Southern proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Campers with a 61-57 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Southern's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Allegany is ranked 50th).
Southern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Wilt out in front who scored 24 points. Wilt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jared Haskiell, who scored 21 points along with three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fort Hill gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They beat Boonsboro by the very same score they won with last week: 88-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Fort Hill has posted yet this season.
Southern's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Fort Hill, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Southern was taken down by Fort Hill 83-45 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Southern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
