The Rio Americano Raiders were the 35-28 winner over the Sacramento Dragons when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Rio Americano suffered a tough 48-26 defeat at the hands of Sacramento on Saturday.
Lamar Radcliffe was his usual excellent self, rushing for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards. Radcliffe was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrius Moore, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Rio Americano's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Sacramento, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Americano will face off against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sacramento, they will head out on the road to face off against Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
