Fillmore has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Channel Islands Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Fillmore struggled with assists on Thursday (Hueneme had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Fillmore was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Hueneme.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaime Soto, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Weslow, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Channel Islands waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 66-34 win over Hueneme. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Channel Islands has posted yet this season.
Fillmore has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Channel Islands, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Fillmore might still be hurting after the 52-32 loss they got from Channel Islands in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Fillmore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
