Daviess County is a perfect 6-0 against Muhlenberg County since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will host the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Daviess County will be strutting in after a win while Muhlenberg County will be coming in after a loss.
Daviess County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Heritage Hills. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Sophia Cain's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sadie Morris was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Molly Hancock was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Daviess County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Hills struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Muhlenberg County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to Lyon County. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jaycee Noffsinger was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Daviess County is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Muhlenberg County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Daviess County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .397. However, it's not like Muhlenberg County struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
