The Belgreen Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Winston County on Tuesday as Belgreen made off with a 60-34 victory. The win was nothing new for Belgreen as they're now sitting on three straight.
Despite the loss, Winston County saw an underclassman step up: Lynleigh Cobb dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Cobb is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Belgreen pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Winston County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belgreen will face off against Phillips at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Phillips will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 408th, while Belgreen is ranked 129th). Winston County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sulligent at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
