After a string of four wins, the Battle Creek Academy Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Mendon, falling 55-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Battle Creek Academy has scored all season.
Battle Creek Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Olivia Keller, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, and Sofia Keller who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 43.8% of Battle Creek Academy's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Battle Creek Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Mendon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Creek Academy will square off against the Griffons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Malia Taylor and Keller. As for Mendon, they will head out on the road to square off against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Athens will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Hornets are ranked 141st).
