Powers was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in 1A Special District 2 (8 Man). Earlier in the week, the Cruisers triumphed over Butte Falls 60-24.
Camas Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Prospect, 60-8. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Hornets.
Camas Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. JOSH MATTOX threw for 121 and one touchdown and Josh Garcia had 73 yards receiving. On the ground Eli Wolfe chipped in 258 yards. Caleb LIndsey helped Camas Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Camas Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. MATTOX has thrown for 1113 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while LIndsey has 16 catches for 592 yards. Garcia leads the league in rushing with 719 yards.
The marquee game in 1A Special District 2 (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Elkton and the Cougars. The Elks comes into the matchup ranked 19th in the state, while Prospect ranks 12th.
