Norfolk Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Yosten, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacey Wolf, who scored seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Battle Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sami Wemhoff, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Tylar Humphrey was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Norfolk Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Battle Creek, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Norfolk Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Scottsbluff at 1:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Battle Creek will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Elkhorn Valley at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Elkhorn Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
