Baseball Recap: Haltom Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Haltom's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Newman Smith Trojans by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Buffalos, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Haltom's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Shipp, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ethan Salinas also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Haltom hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in four consecutive matchups.

Haltom is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. With the loss, Newman Smith broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3-2.

Haltom has already played their next game, a 7-2 win against Seguin on the 6th. As for Newman Smith, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-4 victory against Independence on the 6th.
