The Grayslake North Knights lost against the Antioch Sequoits back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Grayslake North fell to Antioch 51-45. While losing is never fun, Grayslake North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Antioch is ranked 259th).
Antioch found their leader in underclassman Heidi Rathmann, who scored 17 points. Layla Kane was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Grayslake North has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which lines up perfectly with their 5-20 record this season. As for Antioch, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Grayslake North will head out on the road to face off against Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Antioch, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Wauconda at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
