The Camden Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Lugoff-Elgin by a score of 86-84. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (55), Camden still had to take the loss.
Lugoff-Elgin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savon Jenkins, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Mumford, who scored 22 points along with five assists and four steals.
Camden's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lugoff-Elgin, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
Camden won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Military Magnet Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Military Magnet Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they will head out on the road to face off against Crestwood at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Crestwood will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
