The Glendale Falcons were the 37-35 winner over the Camdenton Lakers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Glendale was outmatched by Camdenton at home and fell 61-28. Glendale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
Despite the defeat, Glendale saw an underclassman step up: Cash Newberry rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Camdenton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blake Ford led the charge by rushing for 173 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Ford was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Kade Durnin, who threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns.
Glendale has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Camdenton, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glendale will square off against Branson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camdenton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Helias at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
