Washburn Rural waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-58 W against the Junction City Bluejays. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-56 back in January.

Washburn Rural's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Simon Rowley, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Rowley is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Amare Jones, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Washburn Rural's record is now 12-4. As for Junction City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Coming up, Washburn Rural will square off against Emporia at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Washburn Rural knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Emporia likes a good challenge. As for Junction City, they will take on Topeka at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Junction City has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three games.
