The Madonna Blue Dons will head out on the road to challenge the Oak Glen Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madonna is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Madonna and East Liverpool, and Madonna kept the tradition alive. The Blue Dons blew past the Potters 13-1 on Tuesday. The Blue Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

David Connors made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mathew Geer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Jacob Lazear was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Madonna hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Oak Glen was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They lost 12-2 to Berkeley Springs.
Cam Carter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
Madonna's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Glen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Oak Glen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madonna hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Oak Glen, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Madonna's hitters?
Madonna took their victory against Oak Glen in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Dons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
