Basketball Recap: Hayden Walters Key Part of a Team Effort in Black Bears Win

River View hadn't done well against Ridgewood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went the River View Black Bears' way against the Ridgewood Generals as the River View Black Bears made off with a 66-46 win. The score was close at the half, but the Black Bears pulled away in the second half with 39 points.

River View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Walters, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Walters a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Summers, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points and five assists.

River View's record now sits at 3-4. As for Ridgewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

River View and Northridge will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
