If the South Adams Starfires were riding high off their 62-42 takedown of the Leo Lions on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. South Adams was the victim of a rough 60-39 defeat at the hands of Bluffton on Friday. South Adams was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bluffton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Lanie Trausch and Addie Baker certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Trausch dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Baker scored 14 points. The contest was Trausch's third in a row with at least ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluffton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Konley Ault, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. The matchup was Ault's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Stout, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
South Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bluffton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Adams will take on Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bluffton, they will head out on the road to face off against Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blackford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
