Deubrook's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mataya Gouws, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds. Delaney Pedersen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Canistota's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Deubrook, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Canistota will head out on the road to face off against Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deubrook, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DeSmet at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
