Miles is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Sonora. Miles was the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over Sonora on Friday.
Tevin Meade had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 145 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Ellison, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Miles' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Jaxon Petillo was especially locked on to Sonora's QB and sacked him twice. Petillo also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks, forcing a fumble, and making five total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Sterling City took care of business in their home opener on Friday (barely). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Compass Academy 41-38. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
