3A Region II District 10 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Celina extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region II District 10 this week by beating Roosevelt, 49-9. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bobcats.
Celina took down the Mustangs 49-9 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Ranchview's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Raghib Ismail threw for nine yards and Quinton Butler had nine yards receiving. On the ground Nick Burns chipped in 63 yards.
Ranchview's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keidrien Wadley has thrown for 579 yards and one touchdown this season, while Burns has 12 catches for 168 yards. Osh-Shakkur Derrick leads the league in rushing with 374 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Wolves take on Bill Elliot's team. Ranchview's offense has recorded 102 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Bobcats have permitted only 70 on the year.
A big matchup in 3A Region II District 10 this week will be when Lone Star takes on Aubrey. The Rangers are currently in first, while the Chaparrals are in fourth.
Lone Star made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,923 from 3,125. The advance stemmed from a 51-21 victory over Sanger last week.
