The Antwerp Archers put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 64-52 victory over Jefferson. Given Antwerp's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Jefferson is ranked 583rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Landon Brewer, who shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Zaine McMichael was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Antwerp pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Antwerp will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Hicksville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hicksville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Jefferson and St. John's will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in St. John's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
