Penn Wood had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 40-32 victory over the Norristown Eagles. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 28-24 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Penn Wood can attribute much of their success to Nasir Serrano, who threw for 69 yards and five TDs.

Norristown lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gregory Thompson, who threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Nasir Minor was Thompson's top target, picking up 134 receiving yards and one TD.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penn Wood will square off against Avon Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Norristown, they will take on Phoenixville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
