The Central City Bison are taking a road trip to challenge the Lincoln Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Central City's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Central City is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Adams Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bison blew the Patriots out of the water with a 56-27 final score. Fans of the Bison have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Central City can attribute much of their success to Parker Zikmund, who threw for 360 yards and seven TDs while completing 79.3% of his passes, and Jacob Brazee, who picked up 186 receiving yards and four scores. Those seven passing touchdowns gave Zikmund a new career-high. Corbin Kyes helped Zikmund out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards, while also picking up 46 receiving yards and one touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Central City's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Damien Malachias, Luke McHargue, and Parker Santin, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Christian played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Milford, falling 44-22. The Crusaders were down 44-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Although Lincoln Christian took the loss, they still got scores from Kade Stryker, Matthew Witt, and Jamison Thies.
Central City's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.9 points over those games. As for Lincoln Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Central City has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 157.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 248.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Central City skirted past Lincoln Christian 52-50 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
