Kennewick faced Kamiakin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lions put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 16-7 win. Considering the Lions have won eight matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kennewick is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kamiakin, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kennewick is set to face off against their familiar foe Chiawana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kamiakin will square off against rival Richland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves are on a seven-game streak of home wins, the Bombers a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
