Beddingfield is 0-3 against Clinton since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Beddingfield Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Clinton Dark Horses at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Beddingfield rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 18-16 victory over James Kenan. The win made it back-to-back wins for Beddingfield.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beddingfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Finch, who threw for 74 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Beddingfield also got a significant boost from Desmond Wooten, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Meanwhile, Clinton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Kinston at home to the tune of 64-12. Fans of Clinton have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
nydarion blackwell and Josiah MClaurin were among the main playmakers for Clinton as the former threw for 302 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes and the latter gained 204 total yards and six touchdowns. Jakarrion Kenan also helped out as he racked up 103 receiving yards.
Beddingfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Clinton, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Beddingfield suffered a grim 39-18 defeat to Clinton when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Beddingfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
