They claimed a resounding 47-7 victory over Copiague on the road. With Northport ahead 34-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Northport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Campoli led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown. Campoli was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Michael Campoli also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Northport's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Copiague, Bellport, and Huntington. As for Copiague, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Northport is on the road again on Saturday and play against Half Hollow Hills East at 2:00 p.m. on October 28th. Half Hollow Hills East is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Copiague, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Huntington at 6:00 p.m.
