After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mineral County, the Excel Christian Warriors were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 55-24 win over EnCompass Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Excel Christian has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Excel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mark Doerfler, who scored 16 points along with four steals and three blocks. Doerfler hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Alex Adelekan, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Excel Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for enCompass Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Excel Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Coleville at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for enCompass Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Excel Christian at 6:00 p.m.
