The Peru Tigers will face off against the Caston Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Caston took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Peru, who comes in off a win.
Peru is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Argos on Thursday. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2025 (when they won 20-2).
Addy Marchand spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Steele, who fired off one home run, three triples, and four runs while going 4-for-5. Those three triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Pheobe Steele, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Peru kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Argos only managed four.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Caston was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Winamac, falling 12-2. The Comets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Caston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Mersch, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
The victory made it two in a row for Peru and bumps their season record up to 3-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Caston, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Peru hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Caston struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Peru's way against Caston when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Peru made off with an 8-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
