The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sachse, who took down 71st ranked Sachse, 49-41. BRENT DAVENPORT threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 15 yards in the win.
Lakeview Centennial moved up to 213 from 315 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 11. The Patriots climbed the ranks as a result of a 49-41 win over the Mustangs.
Kent Myers threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns. He was 24-36 with one interceptions.
NEIMAN REED was the best wideout in the league this week as Lakeview Centennial beat Sachse. REED tallied four receptions for 93 yards. NATHAN BREWER helped Lakeview Centennial's passing attack out by catching four balls for 55 yards.
DEMARCUS HALL was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 144 yards on 16 carries as Kendall Miller's team bested Mark Behrens' team. DOMINIQUE LEWIS also contributed to the rushing game with 50 yards on the ground.
The Mustangs' Myers and Bruce Brookins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 5A Region II District 11 in both passing and receiving yards. Myers has thrown for 1838 yards this season, while Brookins has 23 catches for 526 yards. The Patriots' HALL leads the league in rushing yards with 711.
Going into this week's game against Rowlett, Sachse's Myers needs 162 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when South Garland takes on Lakeview Centennial. The Colonels are in second place, while the Patriots are in third place.
