Softball Game Preview: Horn Jaguars vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes

Horn has won five straight games at home, while Duncanville has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Jaguars will host the Panthers and Pantherettes at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Horn's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over DeSoto.

Horn got a massive performance out of Stormi Medina, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Medina a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Uribe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Medina wasn't the only one making solid contact: Horn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Duncanville got the win against Lancaster on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-0.

Madison Lee and Julisel Favela did most of the damage at the plate: Lee went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Favela scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Favela has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ily Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Horn has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Duncanville, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3-1.
